In every country in the world there exists at least one cult. OK maybe that isn't true fact, but with the amount of cults out there I wouldn't be surprised if my estimation is true. And to be perfectly honest there are some really strange cults out there, that seriously leave you wondering how crazy can crazy get. Cults are ever popular in books and can even be found in a Clive Cussler novel, and not surprising the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. But that series involves vampires, werewolves and many other "mythical" creatures. I say "mythical" as some of you out there believe that faeries etc are real and not in anyway mythical; I cannot and will not tell you if I am a believer, it is up to you to decide as a reader if you believe that I am one. I am me and you are you.
OK but back to cults and their serious cause for fear. Some people refer to Scientology as being a cult, and to outsiders that is often how it is viewed, but to those within Scientology it isn't and is just their way of viewing the world. But then on the other hand one could view other religions such as Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism and many others as a cult. All groups/religions have some cult factor, it is just up to that group/religion and what they believe as to whether they are viewed in the cult category or just as a religion. We as humans have some really odd ideas and beliefs, myself included. Everyone has some belief or idea that to others seems preposterous and idiotic. But in essence what I am saying here that even within university culture will you find cults. I am yet to find one at my university but I don't doubt that there is one out there that will most likely be towards the bottom of the cult ladder, in other words its not some well known really strange cult.
People be aware, even university has cults and if you are not careful you could easily be sucked into their community. Though I would also like to point out that some cults are totally harmless, it is just the larger more extreme cults that give cults a bad name.
University is full of weirdos so be aware people... Eat lots of garlic, carry around silver bullets and wear some of those weird amulets that keep the devil and other evils away.... We don't want you succumbing to the vampire or werewolf cults now do we, and be careful that an alien doesn't accidentally abduct you for probing. Nah just joking about probing, aliens are nice and normal like Paul(excluding his foul language) and E.T.
Must be off my seriously hunky vampire of a flatmate has just risen and I'm on dinner duty. Oh my friend Mark has just landed his spaceship in the backyard and once again hit our washing line. He isn't the best flyer.
